Bangla Lounge, located in the heart of Joensuu, is a unique event, meeting, and sauna space. Previously used for storage, the area has undergone a significant transformation while preserving its original character as part of its unique charm.
The project's goal was to create a space that stands out from traditional event and sauna spaces. The client's inspiration was an Asian-influenced speakeasy. Based on this vision, I combined modern and traditional designs to create an exotic and mysterious atmosphere.
The design emphasizes functionality, dividing the space into three distinct zones. Contrasts are a key element of the space's aesthetics: luxurious materials such as brass, marble, and velvet beautifully complement the rugged concrete floor. The color scheme has been carefully planned: dark green as the dominant hue creates depth and tranquility, while the use of red as an accent color adds energy and vibrancy to the space.
Bangla Lounge is a place that invites people to spend time, relax, and enjoy special moments. It is designed to be not only visually appealing but also functional and comfortable, ensuring that every guest feels welcome.
